Encoding pane automatically popped up when booting ST

#1

When I open ST, a pop-up of encodings appears.
It disappears if you push “esc” key after that.
It is annoying.
How to inactivate this behavior?

ST4

This is likely caused by a plugin. Does it happen in safe mode?

likely comes from ConvertToUTF8 and when the plugin failed to detect the encofing, the pane pops up to ask the user for selecting.

OK. I checked that ConvertToUTF8 supports both Sublime Text 2 and 3.
So ST4 is not supported.
Thanks for your info.

No. Generally not every plugin will say it supports ST 4 explicitly since they are created in ST 3 era. It’s just how the plugin works. If a plugin only supports ST 3 but not ST 4, it’s a bug of ST since ST 4 still have python 3.3 legacy bundled.

OK…but if I remember correctly, it didn’t happen when I used ST3 last year.
It is possible the encoding for files opened recently are ones the plugin failed to detect.

OK, thanks.
