Editor disappears and won't re-launch

#1

I’m really liking the editor so far for HTML, PHP. However, I’m running it on a Widows 10 virtual machine, and if I sleep my Mac, when I come back, Sublime Text 3 has disappeared and won’t re-launch. I must shut down Windows and restart to get it back. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Which version of Sublime Text are you using? Does the VM disappear or just Sublime Text? Have you checked Task Manager to see if it’s still running?

I’m using Sublime Text Version 3.2.3, Build 3211. It is a fairly infrequent problem. It has happened only about four times total in several weeks of having the machine in sleep mode every night. I’ve investigated finding out how to look in Windows logs to find out what happened, but no luck with that. Any guidance for that would be appreciated.

I should add that the VM does not disappear and all of the other Windows apps are still running just fine.

Huh.
The main things I could think of that would cause spontaneous VM specific crashes like that is a lack of support for some instruction in the VM, or insufficient memory being allocated to the VM.

What are you using as your VM? How is it setup?

I’m running on a MacPro with Mac OS 10.11.6, 48GB memory, and 12 core cpu at 3.06Ghz. The VM is running under VMware Fusion, allocated 6 cores and 21GB memory. The Mac OS is booted from a 2TB SSD, and the VM files are on a separate 1TB SSD. Also, I run in Unity mode.
