Do you have a plan to support IME?

#1

Hi.

I’m newb on SublimeText.

2 months ago, I bought the license for SublimeText 3.

Sometimes, I feel uncomfortable when i type some language character such as, Korean or Japanese

SublimeText seems to not handle IME(Input method editor) message on Windows.

I’d be happy if this problem is solved.

I know there is the plugin(?) for this.
(github.com/chikatoike/IMESupport)

Anyway, I love this editor so much.

Thank you.

You mean those where you type Hiragana and possible Kanjis popup? I don’t use it, but I’m just making sure.

Seems to be a windows related problem. In OS X, Japanese IME works without problems.

FYI as far as I have tested,

Windows:

  • MS-IME … doesn’t work fine (I see candidate window at the top-left corner of the screen)
  • Google IME … doesn’t work fine (I see candidate window at the bottom-left corner of the Sublime Text window)

OSX:

  • Kotoeri … works fine
  • Google IME … works fine

I don’t know what about ATOK or any other IMEs though.

And on Linux IME doesn’t work either.
This is an extremely annoying flaw for this software, which is the reason why I don’t know anyone around me using it.
I hoped this would be resolved with version 3.

OSX Kotoeri does not work fine.

problems:
A. “Double-click the Kana(Eisu) key” action does not work. (it’s Kotoeri’s shortcut)
B. Enter the Japanese in the Find box > Press enter > Find box is empty
C. Type Japanese, sometimes screen shakes.
