When finding with regex, ST4 disables the real-time match count. In some cases, I’d rather take a hit on performance and be able to see the number of regex matches real-time rather than graceful degradation taking that feature away. I think it’s a good feature, I just think there should be an option to disable it. Perhaps a custom setting for specific syntaxes or specific filenames.
In my specific use case, I have a markdown file of notes that is bordering; it’s not small, but it’s also not unwieldy. I use regex all of the time on this notes file to find strings, but now I am always wondering how many matches and it’s cramping my style
