Disable dragging tabs to a new window

I keep accidentally dragging tabs vertically creating a new window. This is made much worse by the fact that the distance required to drag a tab out of the window is based on the tab bar, so you can click a tab at its lowest pixel and drag it out by moving the mouse 1 pixel down. Using a vertical mouse means it’s very likely that every click includes a few pixels of dragging.

I need a way to disable this so that tabs can only be dragged horizontally or require much further distance (based on where the “drag” operation started, not the area of the tab bar) before they become a new window?

Currently, there is no way to disable that. Feel free to log an enhancement request on the tracker though https://github.com/sublimehq/sublime_text/issues

Very frustrating. When there is more than 10 tabs plus horizontal pane splitting, it’s very easy to drag tabs out of current window. Need a way to disable this, while still allowing to switch tabs by click on them.
