Disable auto blank file on open?

#1

I am a long time user of Sublime Text and this did not bother me up until now but did not see a setting for it.

I am curious if there is a preference setting to when you open sublime it will automatically have a tab/file open that is blank.

The two cases that this happen are:

  • If there is no projects or files currently open from the last session it’ll have an untitled blank file that you then have to close out if you are clicking ctrl/cmd+o

  • Other case is when I have a project directory currently open but had all tabs closed out last session.

As I said I am a fan and this is not a issue that would push me or anyone else away I am sure but I guess user friendly wise this would make one less step.

By default, there’s no need to disable the blank files - if you open a file, it’ll replace the blank one as if it was never there.

Perhaps you have a plugin that’s causing this to not work properly - you’d have to try disabling plugins and see when it starts working correctly.

First off my apologies for not getting back to this for 2 years, the email registered to this account gets flooded so it got lost. But wanted to say that it was a plugin that was causing the issue
