I’m not sure if there is a feature like this, but I often find myself wanting to hide a column temporarily. What do you think?

Nice! I did try to install it but it didn’t work, I guess it is a bit too old. But that’s is exactly what I was looking for.

Inactive panes are already dimmed by default. This feature is supplied by the theme.

Setting is the following:
// If inactive sheets should have their background slightly modified to
// make input focus more obvious.
"inactive_sheet_dimming": true,
But as mentioned, the theme has to support it.
The feature was added in Build 4095.

ST’s theme engine supports dimming, but it also requires a theme to implement it properly.
The screenshot looks like one of the “ST2 style” themes and I doupt it got updated to support latest features.
"inactive_sheet_dimming" however works with ST’s default theme.
