Dear Developer,
I am experiencing a strange issue when using Sublime Text on both Mac and Windows platforms:
When opening the same large TXT files (approximately 20MB, 40MB, or even larger), I notice significantly different behavior during page navigation. On Mac, holding down the page up/down keys for rapid browsing is extremely smooth with no stuttering or lag.
However, on Windows, pressing and holding PgUp or PgDn most often results in the application freezing (manifested as no real-time preview - the longer I hold the key, the longer it remains frozen, though I can see the pages have indeed scrolled after releasing the key). Only occasionally does it work smoothly for quick navigation.
My Mac runs on M4 hardware while my Windows machine has an Intel Ultra 9 processor, so performance shouldn’t be the bottleneck. Why does this behavior occur, and how can I resolve it?
Best regards,
Leo

Does Sublime Text also freeze when scrolling, or is it just page-up/down causing this? Do you perhaps have a high resolution display?

My use case is holding down PgUp and PgDn to scroll quickly through the text. The screen refresh rate is sufficient — this issue only happens on my Windows laptop, which has a 120Hz display. I even reinstalled the system, but the problem still persists.

Does Sublime Text also freeze when scrolling using your touchpad or scroll-wheel, or is it only when using page-up/page-down?
