hi there, i’m new to this forum, first contribution, so i hope my question is not already addressed in the forum. apologies if so.
i came across this issue some time ago but just now decided to post it. it has to do with diacritics in both latin scripts and non-latin, such as arabic.
thing is that when i try to copy this text samples in sublime text 2 (mac), it doesn’t grasp the combination and disassemble the set. i perfectly aware that i’m coming with some extreme cases, but as i tried to replicate the issue in other text editors and they rendered the graphemes correctly, i’d just love to have the same rendering in my favourite text editor.
please, note that my issue is not a conventional text-processor one, i’m programming with those strings, using for instance RDF or SKOS.
let’s go with some examples:
- latin script (try to copy and paste those characters in sublime text 2):
- danish å - this is quite weird because sometimes (i suppose depending on the source) it pastes it correctly, but in the case of the one i pasted there it doesn’t (and in the other editors i have in my pc it goes perfectly right)
- romanian ă - same situation
- IPA ɐ̪ - IPA [1], it goes smooth with other text editors i have, not in ST2. same for other examples from here [2]
-arabic script (copy the samples in ST2):
- the word in arabic for “port”: ميناء when pasted in ST2 gets destroyed. i can provide you with more examples if you wish.
again i really hope i’m not repeating an already sent in issue, if so, please, feel free to delete my post (redirecting me to the old one, if you don’t mind).
