Definitively uninstall Sublime Text 2 from my Mac

I can’t uninstall Sublime Text 2 from my Mac running with OSX 10.9.1 Mavericks.

Yes, I have taken a look at this: sublimetext.com/docs/2/revert.html
Yes, I removed the folder : ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 2
Yes, I removed the app from the Application folder
Yes, I have restarted my computer

And NO, Sublime Text 2 is still in my computer when I click on .svg file!

The folder ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 2 is systematically recreated!

I’m not interested by this app and I want to definitively remove it from my Mac.

Revert is not the same as deleting.

I was googling / pulling my hair out for the same reason: Sublime 2 just wouldn’t go away. I looked everywhere. Did the exact same things mentioned above:

  • removed the folder: ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 2
  • removed the app from the Application folder
  • restarted my machine

Typing “subl .” into the terminal would still trigger Sublime and end up recreating the folders! #myLife. I finally found the location where it need to be deleted at, so hopefully anyone else googling will stumble upon this post:

/opt/homebrew-cask/Caskroom/sublime-text

Why Sublime & homebrew were flirting is beyond me. All I know is that I rm -rf’d that mofo and Sublime was like “k, bai!”
