i’ve used the right context menu to open with, choose another app, always use, which applies the change. i see the icon change on text files and it works. this change always resets to notepad after a reboot.
i’ve also used the default app by file type to change txt to sublime text. this change also always resets to notepad after a reboot.

txt is manually defined so on every restart if i had a text file on the desktop i’d see the icon flip over very quickly
