Default C++ Syntax

#1

It seems sublime detects whether my file is written in C++ or not which is good. But I use different C++ syntax highlighting. Even though I use the GUI accessible option to set the syntax highlighting the same for each file with the same extension it does not apply it and jumps back to the default C++ highlighting.

Is there any way to keep the C++ syntax highlighting of my choice as the default?

Thanks.

Hi

I’m just a noob, so hopefully you’ll get some better advice…

Does saving your file in a workspace or project help ? ( remark to the community at large, "I thought ST3 remembered these settings by default… No? ").

Thanks for your answer. In the meantime, I found the solution by googling a bit further. It seems by renaming the syntax package, it was able to differentiate the default C++ syntax from the one provided by the Starting Kit. I do not understand it completely, but it seems to work :).

See (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/37738489/how-do-i-change-the-name-of-syntax-in-sublime-text) for reference.
