Decoupling Replace and Find Next

#1

I enjoy writing and editing text in Sublime (especially files with a whole lot of lines). However, it irritates me that it’s not possible to avoid it jumping away from a replacement, down to the next match. Definitely I’d prefer to have it stay at the position where the replacement occurred. I’d like to be able to examine if the replacement went as expected, without the need to jump back, e.g. when the search term is a complex regular expression. Until now I didn’t find a way to decouple the two steps, i.e. Replace and Find Next. Are these really hard-linked or is there a trick?

as far as I know, there is no way to perform a Replace without it automatically executing Find Next. (The Find -> Replace Next menu item has the same behavior, and turning off Highlight Matches makes no difference.)
