Custom Font Color?

#1

Hi.

I use Sublime Text 3 (with license) for writing plain text (novel).

GOAL: select text - then color it some color.

NOT: Syntax Highlight Themes.

I need to take PLAIN TEXT and color any word… any color.

Any package for this?

Hard to find.

Thanks much : )

Almost…

Just need to change the font color for any text… no need to highlight similar text.

Another difference… need to be able to pick the color of the next font.

So it seems there would be color picker to select font color. (maybe).

Thanks. : )

MORE INFO:

The use will be to COLOR all of the Villian Text (purple).

Then all of the HERO TEXT… (green).

And then color different ACTION VERBS… other colors.

Anything like that?

Markdown files are an option… but don’t know if md does that?

UPDATE: doesn’t look like markdown does custom font colors either?

Found a way to do it in Google Docs (barely).

So I can screen shot an example… (above)

Feel like you want a WYSIWYG editor rather than a plain text one.

@jfcherng sums it up. Sublime Text is made to edit code, so syntax highlighting is used to colorize text, and if you are using plain text, there will be no colorization. This is by design.

What you want to do can only be done by WYSIWYG editors. You can do so in word and things like that, but not Sublime Text as its purpose is very different from those types of editors which are more designed for prose instead of code.

Thank you.

I will switch to Google Docs.

Package Feature Request: custom font color.

And I get why ‘tokenization’ of code, different for prose, may be complex.

Sounds fun. Impossible???

Thanks. : )

Why you must want a car to be able to fly? Someone may able to make a clunky one, but the effort doesn’t worth it imo…
