I’ve been having an issue where the cursor randomly switches to “insert” mode, and hitting insert again does not turn it off. If I reboot Sublime, problem gone. If I even just launch a new window the problem does not persist in the new window. This happens a few times per day. Any idea on what corrupt cache or whatever I might be able to whack to get past this strange behavior? Thank you for any ideas.

I have exactly the same issue here. The cursor changes for semi-transparent “rectangle” cursor. The behavior after that sounds like insert mode. Switching to insert mode back and forth does not correct the issue. I have to close the file and re-open it.

Hi,
I think I found a “fix”. Even if the Vintage package was inside the “ignored_packages”, I needed to follow theses instructions to get ride of this:
Go into Preferences > Package Control > Package Control: Disable Packages > Choose ‘Vintage’
I never enabled the Vintage package myself (I’m new to Sublime Text 3…) but anyway, it works for me.
