Create "Plain Text" file without adding TXT extension so that Preview works OOTB

#1

Sublime Text 2.0.2
MacOS 10.12.5

When I create a new file in Sublime Text 2, the default type is “Plan Text” (lower right corner of window)
If I save this file without an extension, then the “Kind” of document in Finder is “TextEdit Document”
If I save this file with a TXT extension then the “Kind” of document is “Plain Text”.
I would like to have Sublime text save the document with Kind “Plain Text” without adding an extension.

… after all, Sublime Text is calling it Plain Text, so shouldn’t it say the same thing in Finder after saving?

This will make it easier to use MacOS preview on documents I create with Sublime Text w/o having to add a TXT extension onto them. Thanks!

I doubt ST2 will ever be updated, but you can follow this issue to see news on it relating to ST3:
