Converting Tabs into Spaces hangs ST3 on Python syntax if invoked from status bar

I wrote some python code using tabs. Then I want to convert them into spaces. So I clicked on the status bar “Tabs” to have the menu and select “Convert indentation to spaces”. ST3 hangs and I have to kill it. Anyway it works fine from the menu
