Commit message character count indicator

It is some people’s opinion that a good commit message has a subject of <= 50 characters and the body is wrapped at 72 characters. It would be nice to have an indicator of how many characters we are at. A vertical line at a location we can set in our preferences would be great. It would be even better to be able to have two vertical lines, one for the subject and one for the body.

In many ways we're most of the way there already. For example, I've been running the following as my commit message settings: { "syntax": "Packages/Git Formats/Git Commit.sublime-syntax", "rulers": [50, 72] } That sets up appropriate rulers to help guide commits. There's no hard wrapping at the moment (either automatically or manually since the wrap_lines command is not available yet), but the guides help in the interim.
