Column paste no longrer works correctly

#1

Cutting of a column of text works fine. pasting this column into a new column is no longer working correct.y

For example, in the following section we have 2 columns of data and the a cursor ‘x’ on each row…
1 2 x
1 2 x
1 2 x
1 2 x
1 2 x
1 2 x
1 2 x

Pasting a new column into the X’s above gives me…

1 2 3
3
3

3

1 2 3
3

if we lhave only one cursor on the first row we get
1 2 3
3

3
3
1 2
1 2
1 2
1 2
1 2

Which version of sublime and which platform are you experiencing this on? I can reproduce your results, but only if the number of rows I have a cursor on doesn’t match the number of rows in the data that I cut.

For example, if I started with:

1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3

And I cut the “3” column from the first 4 rows, then deleted the remaining "3"s, then placed a cursor on all the rows and pasted, I would get the same behavior you reported. If I only placed a cursor on 2 rows, I would also get the same behavior. If I placed a cursor on 4 rows, then the paste works as expected.

What would happen with the extra entries?

You may find github.com/adzenith/CopyEdit more to your liking, though if you try to paste a random number of entries into a random number of cursors, it too falls back to just pasting everything. But if the number of selections is a multiple of the number of copied items, it will repeat entries.
