I have been using Sublime text for awhile and now all of a sudden the
text special colors have stopped working and all I get is mostly white
text on black background. I thought it was an unlimited trial period so
why is now working with minimal functions ?

are you seeing this lack of color for all syntaxes or just specific ones?
what packages do you have installed?
using an unregistered version of Sublime Text 3 is not the cause, most likely it is caused by having the wrong syntax selected for a file or a package doing something undesired
