Tried to post this on UserEcho but couldn’t find any “Add New” button.
When opened files have the same name but are in different folders, you can’t identify them until you click it.
My idea is to make files & folders ‘paintable’ and draw colors of the file and its parents on the tabs:

This is a very interesting feature that I have never seen anywhere before. I like it, but I would rather prefer this to be scriptable as a plugin even though none of the current API would allow it.
