Code Foo, not available for ST3?

#1

Hi. I thought I’d install Code Foo for ST3. It exists for ST2, but package control says it doesn’t exist. Does that mean I can’t install it ?

Cheers, Lozminda

You can install it manually from github, though from the looks of things the package has been broken for a while and is unlikely to work in ST3.

Thanks and drat ! Do you know of anything similar that might work ?

Code Foo (just in case) allows you to type in a question (not sure if it’s in the editor or the command line or one of the other boxes) eg, “How do I reverse all the characters in a string in Python?” and in your text editor, commented out, appears the top SO answer to your question.
eg

/*

‘hello world’[::-1]
‘dlrow olleh’

*/

(sorry I don’t know how to do comments in python, so it’s a python snippet in C comments) (not sure why I chose a Python example…)

Any ideas?
@bschaaf, I see you answer many of my (as well as others questions, along with @OdatNurd too), thank you very much for your help.

@Lozminda Not sure off the top of my head, but I will look at the plugin today and see what it would take to get working in ST3/4

It requires query.yahooapis[.]com which is no longer active. You’ll need to find a new service that provides similar results sadly.

@TheSecEng. Not knowing really what you are talking about re query.yahooapis[.]com
I googled it and got

That SOP has this link in it

Any use ? If it’s gonna be a massive chore, don’t worry about it on my part. I’m still not sure of my commitment level to ST3…
I notice Code Foo for ST2 didn’t have that many downloads, which I think is a bit sad as it’s a great idea. Save me learning to code !
