Can't override native snippets

I created my own html snippet, and deleted the native one in PackageResourceViewer: Open Resource > HTML > Snippets/, but typing html still brings the autocompletion popup and lists the native html snippet and mine.

Should having created my own snippet of the same name not override the native one by at least placing it first in the autocompletion list?
Should having deleted the PackageResourceViewer: Open Resource > HTML > Snippets/ folder’s content not completely disable the native html snippet from popping the autocompletion list and appearing in it?

sounds like you had an override and deleted that, restoring the original snippet.
Maybe use PRV to open the “native” snippet, delete all content and save it.
