Can't find base version of SublimeLinter

I’m new to Sublimetext. I’ve purchased and installed Version 3.1.1, Build 3176.

Trying to install SublimeLinter. I’m looking for SublimeLinter - Interactive code linting framework for Sublime text 3 within the list of available packages to no avail. Am I doing something wrong? Has this package been removed?

These are the steps I’m doing:

  1. Command Palette (CTRL+SHIFT+p)
  2. Type “install package” within Command Palette
  3. Select Package Control: Install Package option and hit return
  4. Package Control present a list of available packages.
  5. I type SublimeLinter and look for SublimeLinter - Interactive code linting framework for Sublime text 3 but it’s not there.

Should I be doing something different to find SublimeLinter - Interactive code linting framework for Sublime text 3?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

does it appear in the list from the Command Palette option Package Control: List Packages? maybe it is somehow already installed?
the package seems to have no problems/warnings shown on the website https://packagecontrol.io/packages/SublimeLinter though it’s tagline is

The code linting framework for Sublime Text 3

instead of

in case that makes a difference?
