Can't figure out how to adjust interface size

#1

I’m pretty new to Sublime Text, I just started trying to actually use steadily it in the past few weeks so I can do a trial of the software.
I just had to change out my graphics card and got a second 4k monitor to go with it and now I can’t figure out how to change the font size for the user interface in Sublime Text.
Originally I just ran at 2k because my old graphics card was too slow for 4k. I think the interface was always a bit small for my taste but didn’t think too much of it since it wasn’t as bad at 2k.

I’m on Debian 12 using the Sublime Text build #4192.

I tried to use the “ui_scale” setting in my ‘Preferences.sublime-settings’ file brought up by the ‘Preferences:Settings’ menu, to try and increase the interface size but for some reason it isn’t changing the actual interface after restarting the program (even tried changing it to something like ‘5.0’).

I could use some guidance on what is either keeping this from working or what settings I am supposed to change and how to do so.
If there is any other information about my system or system settings that would be helpful, please let me know.

I appreciate any help you can give, as this makes it a bit unusable for me at this resolution.

ui_scale works for me to scale up the editor, find/replace and sidebar. The menubar and titlebar (using native titlebar at least) follow the system settings I think.

I use Ubuntu (24.10) GMOME/Wayland and have the GNOME text-scaling-factor set to 1.25 to increase fonts systemwide

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor 1.25

and then

"ui_scale": 1.5

set in Sublime Text settings to enlarge it a bit. (It seems to follow the GNOME text-scaling-factor as 1.25 seems to be the default and 1.0 will shrink the interface for my setup.)

What desktop/window manager/etc are you using?

I’m using the Plasma desktop with X11 window manager, however I think you may have mentioned my issue here…

“The menubar and titlebar (using native titlebar at least) follow the system settings I think.”

I just thought that I had set it higher in the system I suppose but after increasing the size again, it’s much better.
I really appreciate the help, it was kind of right in front of my nose but I just didn’t see it.

Have a great day.
