Cannot use console ST3

I have just installed ST3,. I an=m attempting to paste the code for package manager but I can’t. The console has entires which I can highlight but not cut or delete. Please can you help

After hitting ctrl+` (at least that’s the shortcut for OS X) you should see the console and it should have two sections, one is the output area (the top larger area) then the input area (the bottom portion) It’s basically a very long text box.

There is the build panel, which is somewhat similar but lacks an input area at the bottom that you might be seeing.

Thanks subhaze. I mus learn to read the manual and pay more attention to the tutorials - the solution is obvious when you know!!!
