I am using macOS Big Sur, version 11.3.1 on a MacBook Air (M1, 2020), and I cannot get dark mode to work. I have tried several approaches, and nothing seems to be working right on this particular setup. I have no issues on my other computers–just this particular setup has been giving me problems.

Are you referring to automatic switching or just a dark theme? What version are you using?
I’ve installed 4126 right now, but the same behavior happened with the last few versions I have tried. I have not been able to change the workspace from white background to any other background color, no matter what color scheme or theme I select. It is as if none of them do anything. Same with preferences panel/settings in OS–nothing changes the permanently white background/workspace. Thanks
