Can we expect recompiled builds for macOS Tahoe soon?

This mismatch drives me crazy

The title bar is rendered entirely by macOS, not by us. Tahoe has inconsistent rounding all over the place. This is by design. If it’s driving you crazy I suggest downgrading or switching to a different operating system.

Well, then better avoid Windows, too. It’s even worse.

Wait, are you saying Linux has the most consistent design? :exploding_head:

I don’t know why you’re so hostile.

Well yes this window is rendered by macOS, but the way of rendering is based on which SDK version was used to compile the application.

Yes it has for example Terminal. But not by design it’s because the were not updated yet.

Yes I can do it, I can even move to CLI. I can even change the editor but it’s not the point of this question.

I’m sorry, I did not intend any hostility. I was simply conveying information.

For some elements, yes. For the default titlebar the rendering does not depend on the SDK version.

It is entirely by design. To quote Apple’s WWDC talk:

Each element is designed with a curvature that sits neatly within the corner radius of its container, in this case the window itself. And this relationship goes both ways. In the new design system, windows now have a softer, more generous corner radius, which varies based on the style of window. Windows with toolbars now use a larger radius, which is designed to wrap concentrically around the glass toolbar elements, scaling to match the size of the toolbar. Titlebar-only windows retain a smaller corner radius, wrapping compactly around the window controls.

It’s fine new day, new perspective. Thanks for the clarification. I wasn’t aware about the distinction between title-only windows. While I don’t like the esthetics consequences, I see how it benefits work space.

I guess there are no plans to add controls some controls to add softer radius.

The rounded corners lead to more wasted space and look cartoonish. I personally am fine with the old look, consistency be damned.

But time moves on, I guess.
