Can text be blink highlighted?

I’d like portion of the text, like syntax errors, to be highlighted with a blinking color. Is this possible?

Plugins cannot change color scheme, but can change the background color and underline text.

You could periodically overwrite the region with a highlighted and a not highlighted, but that’s a bad idea.

Yes, I also would not suggest trying to emulate the blinking.

In general, if blinking were possible, I would probably discourage it as well. There is a reason why sites don’t use blink tags anymore ;).
