Can only have 1 file open at a time

ST has always allowed me to open multiple files from the sidebar in tabs but now every time I open a file, the current tab goes away and is replaced by a tab for the new file, in other words I can only have one tab in the workspace

Double click on the file in the sidebar to keep it open in its own tab.
