Build 4172 hangs on start-up / MacOS

after upgrading to build 4172, ST hangs with beach-ball spinner -> force quit.

Apple M1 Max, macOS 14.3.1

Just a note to say that I saw this too. The solution for me was to downgrade to 4168.
