Build 4113 on Mac Completely Unfunctional

#1

Just installed today’s auto-update stable build and having huge problems.

  • On first run, things seem to work fine, but CPU usage spikes on 8/16 cores.
  • Quitting leaves a ghost app running with no windows and CPUs still spiking.
  • Force quit of the ghost app works, but then the app will no longer launch.

I’ve uninstalled, downloaded a fresh copy from the website, and reinstalled a couple of times.

Any thoughts?

Note reinstalling doesn’t reset any state. Is the indexing running? Does it happen in safe mode?

Interesting - had to research what you mean. I don’t think any indexing is happening as there is no sublime process running. I tried to run subl --safe-mode from terminal but sublime will still not load.

Also - I just tried reverting per these instructions, but no change:
https://www.sublimetext.com/docs/revert.html

Followed these steps:

  1. Removed sublime.app.
  2. Renamed the Application Support directory: ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3
  3. Deleted the cache: ~/Library/Caches/Sublime Text
  4. Rebooted.
  5. Downloaded a new copy from the website.
  6. Started in safemode: subl --safe-mode.
Lots of CPU churn as before.
  7. Quit sublime text.
  8. Restarted sublime.
back in the “ghost mode” that I described earlier.

I’m not seeing any of that on macOS 11.4. Can you grab a process sample using activity monitor?
