Build 3209 breaks Package Control on macOS

After updating to build 3209 of Sublime Text on macOS 10.14.6, I got the error “plugin_host has exited unexpectedly, plugin functionality won’t be available until Sublime Text has been restarted”. Restarting the app doesn’t help. The ST console shows the same error. Everything works fine after reverting to 3208.

I also tried reverting to a freshly installed state with build 3209. After trying to install Package Control by pasting the install script from https://packagecontrol.io/installation the console shows this error:

In my case it autoupdated from the dev build 3208, so I assume it’s pre-release.

Ah, sorry. In the fresh install I used the install script currently on https://packagecontrol.io/installation (which you can see in the log in my first post). I’m not sure how to check the version of my main install, but I also installed it using the regular install script a while ago.

Same problem here (macOS 10.14.6). I tried reinstalling package control using the manual method at https://packagecontrol.io/installation#st3, restarted and still got the same error message.

I don’t know if this is related, but I also noticed that a few menu items under Preferences are disabled:

I’m not sure what in the new build is causing the ctypes loading of libcrypto to segfault the plugin_host (no changes there), but I’ve recently made revisions to asn1crypto to get rid of the dependency on libcrypto, so I’ll work on a new Package Control release.

Actually I believe the hardened runtime we are using with notarization is likely the issue. We should have a new build out within 24 hours to fix this.

I’ve got the same. :slight_smile: Package Control is broken, Pyv8 stays to “loading” in an infinite loop.

There’s rather a lot that doesn’t work right now - like most items on the context menu in the left file explorer sidebar (“New File”, “Find in Folder”, etc.). Hopefully all this is the same cause.

If you are seeing the error “plugin_host has exited unexpectedly, plugin functionality won’t be available until Sublime Text has been restarted” then it means everything that is implemented in Python will be broken. This includes quite a bit of out-of-the-box functionality.
