Broken: moving lines across folded region; Requested: remember nested fold

#1

The one thing that bugs me is ST’s folding. It is

  1. broken when moving across a fold: if you want to move a line above a folded region, the line moves into the folded region where you can’t see it.
  2. unable to remember nested fold (if I have level 3 folded, then fold level 1 and then unfold 1 I’d like level 3 to still be folded)

Any chance this might ever be addressed?

These are longstanding bugs / feature lacks that I would love to see addressed.

Using the ‘slide’ function to move a selected region into/through folded code causes havoc/confusion visually. I reported this in 2014. See bug report.

Nested folding is also a long requested feature (see issue), along with natively remembering folded regions within projects.

Add to the above syntax-aware folding. Should be doable given language awareness available through scopes (see issue).

Sublime’s folding capability is pretty limited at present, especially for those of us working on large projects / codebases. Addressing the above Sublime would be on par with other professional editors folding wise

Thanks for the background/context. I knew some of this, but this is comprehensive—and dispiriting.
