Block caret in vintage

I just read in the Build 3059 changelog that:

  • Vintage: A block caret is now used

but Its not working for me, do we have to set up a special setting to enable it?

You actually need to add two settings into your config file:

"inverse_caret_state": true, "highlight_line": false

(you can change the color of the caret by edit your current color scheme and change selection color)

It looks to me at least initially that the color of the block cursor takes on the color that the line highlight did. It’s probably implemented by just masking the line highlight to whatever character is “focused” (in vintage mode).

So I guess this is satisfactory; might involve also editing the color of the highlight from your colorscheme to make it stand out better. Looks like the thick underline that I was using is still present. Which i might still leave in, I guess…
