Folder should be bold to make it easier to scan through the Sidebar. Also, it’d be great if sidebar can support colors (textmate will show folder’s color as well) to make it easier for context switching and to distinguish between projects.

Yep, good idea. Currently there is no distinction between an file and a folder in the sidebar, it makes it very difficult to make things out.

What about small icons in the sidebar? I was just checking out another text editor that uses such icons and it makes it very much easier to distinguish file types and jump directly to the file you want.
