Hey Breck7, does this occur in safe mode ? If not, a plug-in is likely the culprit here.

It looks similar to the reported bug https://github.com/sublimehq/sublime_text/issues/5813 or at least related. So I would guess that there is a bug in the syntax highlighting engine, which freezes ST.
