Auto-refresh folders not working on external volume on Mac

#1

I have a separated volume on my computer which i use as home folder in mac os. There i have a folder with all websites i work on. I work through terminal, doing a “subl .” so i have an ad-hoc project right on time. However, since i changed my home folder to an external volume (so i dont fill my ssd), sublime text 2 AND 3 is not refreshing folders and files automatically. And also when i press cmd+p, i dont see newly created files unless i refresh manually. Is there a way i can enable auto-refreshing folders for volumes other than my system volume? (when i use a folder located on the main volume, it still works well).

Sublime Text relies on the operating system forwarding change notifications to it. If the operating system doesn’t tell the application about any changes, there’s nothing the application can do. Sublime Text will always ask to be delivered change notifications, but in some scenarios the operating system isn’t able to do this. It’s something that generally crops up with network drives.

Thanks for the answer.

Well this folder is mounted as Home dir on Mac OS. Are you sure the system can’t detect changes? See, this procedure is not really unpopular, since everyone is now getting ssds’ but due the their price and size limitations, its a common practice to leave it just for the system, so it’s shame if there isn’t a solution for this.
