Are font feature settings possible?

#1

I really love good typefaces and many of them provide various opentype features as different stylistic sets (e.g. ss01 for a different looking a), tabular numerals or a slashed zero.

I think to have somewhere seen that ST3 supports those. Unfortunately, it isn’t described in the documentation how to activate those features. Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction?

No, there is no way to configure opentype features in Sublime Text.

I’m not currently aware of what may or may not be available for such functionality via Skia [DirectWrite]/GDI (Windows), Core Text (OS X/macOS) and Pango/Cairo (Linux). This is probably the sort of thing that would be investigated when we look into supporting ligatures.

Hi @wbond, thanks for the quick reply. Than I must have mixed up the editors in my memory.

I checked a conversation with a typefoundry on Twitter and found out that the mentioned Atom.

Maybe that would be easier to implement than ligatures. Because you don’t need multiple glyphs - those setting will only change the appearance of single glyphs. The syntax could be oriented on css.

I’m not saying it would be as hard to implement as ligatures, just the type of thing we would investigate when next working on the text layout engine and fonts.
