App Nap on Mac

I’m on macOS 10.12.1

How can I enable App Nap for ST 3? If I leave ST hidden (CMD+H) and in the background, it ever naps. It continues to use CPU.

To confirm, other apps on this computer do nap.

I’m on a retina display so ST will use OpenGL. Apple docs state App Nap is not used in Apps that use OpenGL. I tried setting "gpu_window_buffer": false to disable OpenGL and ST still won’t nap.
