I see this has been requested a few times before, but it’s mostly threads from 6-7 years ago, and I thought I’d give it a little bump now that build 3200 introduced git badges in the sidebar.
I would very much like to see a customization API for sidebar items, and a data provider API for the entire sidebar. It would be even more awesome if we could add extra sidebar tabs, each with its own data provider (similar to the solution explorer/resource view/class view/etc. tabs in Visual Studio). I’m working on a build system, and I’d like to integrate it into Sublime first by showing which files are part of the build (similar to the controlled/ignored distinction for git added in build 3200), then by having a separate sidebar mode which shows build targets that can be expanded to display their dependency trees.
Is something like this already in the works, or is there any chance it will be considered in the future?
