Alt is not a useful click modifier on Linux

#1

In many Linux desktops - definitely KDE and XFCE and I think others too - Alt-click is used by the window manager to allow you to move a window by clicking anywhere inside it. Thus using Alt as a cluck modifier in Sublime doesn’t work because the WM catches it first.

I can’t find a way to modify it in Sublime, and modifying it in my WM would mean unlearning years of behaviour.

Could you use the super key instead ? I guess it would mean copying your keybinding defaults over to the user side and replacing the relavent “alt” s with “super”, which in theory should be fairly easy if you’re using ST to do that.

It’s not an elegant solution (bit brute force) but hopefully this’ll get the ball rolling. Maybe someone will come up with a better idea.

I had all kinds of key conflicts till I realised I could use the super key (it’s the one with the windows logo on on my keyboard) in ST3…

I guess, but this only affects mouse clicks, not keyboard shortcuts and I don’t want to edit the keyboard shortcuts, as I’m so used to those.

Also I’m using a Mac keyboard…
