All folds re-open when file is committed

When I’m editing a long file and fold some functions, after making a commit and returning to Sublime, all folded functions are open again. Committing is the one case that triggers the problem reliably, but there might be other ways to interact with the file outside Sublime that would have the same effect.

Does anybody know whether there is an easy way to stop this from happening, i.e. to make sure all folds stay closed?

there are plugins that can do this:

BufferScroll

A little plug-in which remembers and restores the scroll and cursor positions, also the selections, folding, bookmarks and mark states. Sublime already restore these things for tabs that are opened but not for closed tabs. This plug-in provides persistence when closing and opening. github.com/SublimeText/BufferScroll

Actually, right before posting I’ve come across BufferScroll and hoped that it would solve the problem, but it sadly turned out that it doesn’t. It remembers the state of the folds between restarts, but doesn’t prevent them from being re-opened by whatever does it.

oh, maybe your best bet is to find what unfolds them then - presumably by disabling plugins
