A 'foot-gun': having the 'about' window displayed over one instance of Sublime freezes all instances

This is not exactly a bug (and I see no bug flag for posts, incidentally) but it is a way that users can, for no good reason, shoot themselves in the foot. Thus, it seems bad design. Here is the problem.

If, in one window of Sublime, one gets the ‘about’ box up, then the underlying window becomes unresponsive. OK. But the same happens to all other Sublime windows. In any other such window, one cannot see the About box, and so one thinks that the program has frozen up. I submit that something should be done about this.

Are you referring to the “About Sublime Text” dialogue window? If so, then this might be a linux issue.
For ST 4207 on Mac Taho 26.6.2 the “about” dialogue does not freeze or interrupt any windows.

Clicking into another window/view simply sends the ‘About’ window to the background and you continue working:

I just tried on Ubuntu and opening the About dialog does do what @snarkleBartfasty says for me too. For the window the dialog is anchored to, which gets darkened, it make sense, but other windows have no indication of what going on that I can see.
