A Custom Icon for ST2

#1

Hey Sublime fans

I found the receding angle of the current Sublime Text 2 icon clashes with the rest of the icons in my dock, so I whipped one up to my liking and figured I’d share it here because, who knows, someone else might like it too. Two versions included, a bright orange and a black/orange truer to the original.

To change the icon on a Mac:

  • Open one of the above links in your browser, right click the image and Copy it
  • Right-click the Sublime Text 2 app in your finder and select Get Info (or cmd+i)
  • Click on the icon on the top left of the resulting info window so it becomes highlighted
  • Click Edit > Paste (or cmd+v). Voila!

If you ever want to revert, just highlight that icon in the info window and press the Delete key. Sorry Windows users, I don’t know the steps you’d take to change the icon, but I’m sure it’s possible.

Linux users - here they are are in SVG 1.1 format! (These are untested so if you encounter problems please let me know.)

Done! Check the original post, and please let me know if they don’t work (I don’t have a linux box to test them on).

Cheers!

I’m using this with Elementary OS. It is a really nice icon and manages to fit in despite not adhering to tango-like icon HIG.

Thanks!
