3114 Ubuntu 14.04 64bit ST3 doesn't show text at all

#1

Starting from the point when rendering was improved I can’t see any text in ST3. GUI looks as frozen. The only thing which changes when I select another open file is the caption which is updated. Please help to solve this!

Last working version for me was 3109.
3111 already has the same issue.

Best regards,
Jörg

Just confirming this bug, curently this renders ST3 useless for me… any pointers as how to downgrade @Jo2003?

Downgrade is possible through command line:
sudo dpkg -i sublime-text_build-3109_amd64.deb

Possible duplicate of freezing issue mentioned here: 3114 "subl -n" doesn't work on Ubuntu

Forgot to mention that I am using Gnome, so this is not just limited to Unity.

Yup. I came here to post a similar problem. I am attaching a screenshot of my blank tabs. It’s like the UI is frozen, but ONLY the tabs and the tab contents themselves. If I resize that window, it works again. Also, the menu on that window seems to work fine. AND importantly, any other windows besides the first are fine! So I usually have two (or three) ST3 windows open. One with work stuff, one with personal stuff, and possibly one or more depending on the moment. Only the first one for me is frozen. I can also extract the tabs from that window into new windows, and they work fine. Just this one is frozen until I resize it. I’m using 64-bit Cinnamon on LM17.3 (Ubuntu 14.04).

Also I should note that I do believe it is related to the issue mentioned by sunnyps above, because a window resize (e.g. unlocking it from full-screen mode, or just click-dragging the corner) will redraw the window and it works again.

Thank you @L0j1k for the information about resizing the window, works here as well on gnome.

@wbond, @jps This is a pretty serious issue. Is there a better way of reporting such issues that’s more likely to have visibility from the core team?

I think these posts are all duplicates of this issue:
