Where are default color schemes in ST4?

#1

Hi,

Latest ST tutorials explain where to store DIY color schemes but I cannot figure out where to look for the default schemes. I simply want to edit a couple of things in one of them.

Older tutorials and discussions refer to Packages/User/ folder (my understanding is that on Linux it is ~/.config/sublime-text/Packages/User/ – but there aren’t any schemes there.

  • INSTALL_DIR/Packages/Color Scheme - Default.sublime-package
  • INSTALL_DIR/Packages/Color Scheme - Legacy.sublime-package

Note that a .sublime-package file is just a zip file so you can unzip it.
Or, use View Package File from the command palette.

Thank you! For Fedora, the INSTALL_DIR was /opt/sublime_text/.

Note that unpacking a package just to modify one of the files within it is not the proper way to go about that.

In the particular case of color schemes, UI: Customize Color Scheme from the command palette lets you make modifications to any color scheme, default or not, without taking steps that might lock your color scheme forever and block you from updates or having your changes unceremoniously removed and discarded without warning on update.

@OdatNurd Fantastic, thank you, I’ve done just that. The old scheme works fine with the added lines.
