Turn off update notification

Now every time I open Sublime a pop-up shows saying “A new version of Sublime Text is available, download now?”

I don’t want to download the new version.

How can I turn this pop-up off?

I’ve put “update_check”: false. in my settings but it is still showing up?

You need a license for that setting to be effective.
