Thank you, OdatNurd.

I’m learning to create Sublime Text plugins by watching your videos.

They’re excellent.

Well organized, well presented, very thorough.

Thank you!

I wish to take this opportunity to thank him as well. I have been using ST since forever, but only in the last couple of years I started writing plugins for it, precisely because of his YT videos (I basically had no idea about ST capabilities before then). Yes, the videos are excellent and well organized, but I think there’s more to it. His videos made me passionate about ST, and I think that’s because he is passionate about it.

I am also grateful to Terence! That took a HUGE amount of work and organization to create those videos! And “thorough” is indeed the right term for what I experienced so far as well. Terence are you on this forum?

I’m very curious (and concerned) why his videos seemed to stop after 6-Dec-2021. I have so many questions. And I know where to get info, but I found myself going to his YouTube channel first to do my searches… And of course, probably like all of us, I am sorely wishing that ALL the data was in one place. I’d really like to talk to the core development team about that (with a proposal) if they are watching these posts.

#OdatNurd <-- in case this serves to alert Terence.

Hey thanks guys!

To answer your question @vwheeler63, after roughly two years of weekly videos I burned out a bit on the creation front and switched to more streaming to recharge.

The plan was to come back with videos last year but we decided to sell our house and move across the country to a different province, and the logistics of that made it tricky to also try to do any creation (particularly since 90% of the stuff in the house had to be in a shipping container so we could sell).

I am currently working through ideas and pre-prep on more videos, so they will be returning soon (probably some redos and refreshes of existing stuff, based on various feedback and commonly asked questions). Not sure when that will be because we also just got a puppy, which throws a wrench into things.

In any case, I’m totally still available for questions here, on Discord, etc. I also welcome anyone that has ideas for videos or topics to cover in more depth to throw them in here, because in many ways coming up with the basis of the video is the hardest part a lot of the time.

Hi, Terrence! @OdatNurd

Very glad to hear things are both okay and that you are looking towards making new videos. I can understand the burn-out—that was a tremendous amount of work—and very appreciated! In fact, your videos were a significant catalyst to get me past the decision stage to commit some time to seeing if Sublime Text could replace my old (beloved, programmable) programmers editor.

I do have questions, but I will study all the existing Package documentation first before asking. If I am still stuck, I will make a separate post for each remaining question. Thanks for keeping an eye on this forum!!

Hello, Terrence, and thanks again; I just finished the Plugin 101 series over the weekend. So, so good. You are an excellent teacher.

Indeed!
