ST3: Sublimerge 3 (diff & merge tool)

#1

Hello all!

I’d like to announce that I just released an alpha version of Sublimerge 3 - the leading diff & merge tool for Sublime Text!

The 3rd version introduces many improvements. It is designed for ST 3 only and is being written from scratch so it takes all the advantages of new Sublime’s API.

New features includes:

  • Live diff (2-way and 3-way)
  • Undo/redo
  • New change blocks style

For more information and installation instructions please visit http://www.sublimerge.com/sm3/. I’m waiting for your feedback! :slightly_smiling:

P.S. This is how it looks like:

How to Diff in Sublime 3?

@bf1986 If I want to buy a license, should I wait until it leaves alpha? When would that be, if you can share plans on that?

Hi! No, you don’t have to wait. Sublimerge 3 will be licensed separately, however users who already own a license for Sublimerge 2 will be able to use an upgrade discount (just pay the difference between SM3 and SM2 prices).

For example: SM2 costs $25 and let’s say SM3 will cost, for example, $35. So if you buy it today, you pay $25 and get working license for Sublimerge 2 and Sublimerge 3 (until it’s alpha or beta). Then the upgrade will cost you $35 - $25 = $10 and you will get an upgraded license for both Sublimerge 2 and Sublimerge 3. If you decide to purchase SM3 when it’s ready, you will pay $35 and get a license for both versions. So, all in all, the amount you spend in total is always $35 - the cost of SM3.

According to the plans: now it’s alpha because I’m re-implementing from scratch the features of SM2. Current progress you can find on http://www.sublimerge.com/sm3/. Then, when total progress reach 100% it will turn into beta and I will be fixing any issues the users will report. When it gets stable I will release it officially.
